Australian biking ace Michael Matthews has damaged each wrists in a coaching crash and been dominated out of racing for the forseeable future.
Matthews’ season on the World Tour began with victory within the Gran Premio de Castellon in Spain in late January – the forty fourth win of his embellished 17-year profession.
The 35-year-old was to have contested the eight-day Paris-Good race beginning Sunday however now faces a prolonged stint on the sidelines.
“Sadly Michael Matthews suffered a crash while out coaching [on Thursday] and was transferred to hospital,” a press release from his Jayco Alula group stated.
“Group medical workers have confirmed that CT scan outcomes present fractures to each of his wrists, subsequently ruling him out of all upcoming races.
