Emirates has issued a travel advisory for passengers as it expects high travel demand during peak winter travel season.

The Dubai-based carrier has advised passengers to arrive at airports at least three hours before departure and to make use of advance check-in options.

The airline advises passengers travelling over the peak season to arrive at boarding gates an hour before their flight is set to take off.

In a statement, the airline said: “Emirates is expecting a high volume of passengers travelling from Dubai during the December peak travel season.

“Please arrive at least three hours before your departure from Dubai and be at your boarding gate at least 60 minutes before departure.

“During peak travel periods, it may take longer than usual to pass through security and immigration and to reach your gate”.

The airline also recommends arriving by Dubai Metro to avoid traffic congestion.

Emirates shared these travel tips for convenient check‑in and a smoother and faster journey:

    • Check in online or on Emirates app and select your seats
    • Check in and drop your bags 24 hours before departure, or 12 hours ahead for flights to the US
    • Use quick self check‑in and bag drop kiosks or Check‑in Ports except for flights to the US flights
    • Emirates Skywards members can register for Emirates Biometrics on the app before travelling to use facial recognition through the airport
    • Book Home Check‑in and let the agents come to you
    • Check in at Emirates City Check‑in and Travel Store at ICD Brookfield Place, DIFC and earn 2,500 bonus Miles with Skywards until January 15. You can check in from 24 to four hours ahead of your flight except for the flights to the US
    • Visit Emirates City Check‑in, Ajman or the cruise check‑in at Port Rashid and Dubai Harbour
    • Customers booked in First Class, as well as Platinum Skywards members, are eligible for complimentary Home Check‑in
    • Customers travelling on flights to the US, or with bookings for special services, must check in at the airport in person
