The first developer beta of iOS 18.4, which includes a new “Priority Notifications” feature driven by Apple Intelligence, was made available by Apple on Friday. By giving priority to critical warnings and reducing distractions from less crucial ones, the feature seeks to assist users in managing their notifications.

The phone’s lock screen shows these priority notifications in a different area. You may still swipe up to see all of your alerts, but Apple Intelligence will determine which ones it thinks belong in this section.

The most recent alerts are shown at the top of the iPhone’s notification list, which is currently sorted chronologically. When compared to others, the new function will prioritize critical messages, even if you received them a while ago.

Priority Notifications is turned off by default, but you can turn it on by going to the Settings app, choosing the “Notifications” option, and then navigating to the “Prioritize Notifications” area, according to 9to5Mac. You may turn the functionality on here.

Apple said today that as part of visionOS 2.4, Apple Intelligence will be coming to the Vision Pro. The software’s general release is scheduled for April, but developers can now access a beta version. Apple News+ Food, a new feature that will let users search and save recipes from dozens of current News+ publishing partners, was also unveiled by the tech giant.
