OpenAI announced their latest designed Chat GPT agent through a blog post published Sunday. For addressing its capability they clearly said
“People who do intensive knowledge work in areas like finance, science, policy, and engineering and need thorough, precise, and reliable research.” It could also be useful, the company added, for anyone making “purchases that typically require careful research, like cars, appliances, and furniture.”
ChatGPT deep research is also intended for certain instances. For example where you don’t just want a quick answer or summary, but you also need to assiduously consider information from multiple sources.
OpenAI claims that they are making deep research available to ChatGPT Pro users today. However, the facility will be limited to free users with only 100 queries. The query count will be significantly higher for the paid users. Open AI had no release timeline to share for Chat GPT customers in the UK and other European Economic Area along with Switzerland.
For using the Chat GPT research you have to just select the “deep research” through the composer and enter the query there. The option will be to attach the files or through the separated sheets. Deep research could take anywhere from 5 to 30 minutes to answer the question. You will get notifications after the completion of the search.
At present, ChatGPT deep research’s outputs are text-only. OpenAI stated they intended to add more embedded images, data visualization, and other types of “analytic” outputs soon. The roadmap is the ability to connect with “more specialized data sources,”. That will also include subscription-based and internal resources.
