According to the report near about 43,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed after the Russian full-scale invasion. Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed this number and said in a rare admission of the extension of the nation’s casualty.
Through a post on social media, the Ukrainian president clearly said that 370,000 casualties have been reported. This figure also included soldiers who had been hurt more than once also they say the injuries are minor. He also claimed 198,000 Russian soldiers have been killed and 550000 wounded.
Although both Moscow and Kyiv have frequently released estimates of the opposing side’s losses, they have been hesitant to provide specifics about their own.
The latest number represents a sharp rise in Ukrainian fatalities since the year began.
Zelensky last provided an update on Ukraine’s death toll in February, when he reported 31,000 deaths.
US President-elect Donald Trump wrote on social media that Ukraine had “ridiculously lost” 400,000 soldiers.
Hence comparable to 600,000 Russians who had been killed and wounded in the war. President Trump does not say from where he gets the number and says “needlessly wasted”.
Zelensky’s calculations of Russian losses are comparable to those of top Western officials, who calculate that Russia has lost about 800,000 people, both dead and wounded.
Russia lost 45,680 soldiers in November alone, more than in any other month since the start of its full-scale invasion in February 2022, according to the UK’s defense minister.
The most recent figures from UK Defence Intelligence indicate that 1,523 Russian soldiers are killed and injured on average per day.
It claims that on November 28, Russia lost almost 2,000 men in a single day for the first time.
Moscow denies those figures.
Ukrainian losses were “many times higher” than Russian ones, according to a statement from the Kremlin.
The general assumption outside of Russia is that because of their “meat grinder” tactics, Russian casualty numbers are significantly greater than Ukraine’s.
The death toll has only increased due to recent events in the conflict.
Since the beginning of the year, Russian forces have retaken and captured over 2,350 square kilometers (907 square miles) of terrain in eastern Ukraine and in the western Kursk region of Russia, continuing their steady progress along the eastern front line.
A little portion of Russian territory that was taken during a surprise push into Russia in August is still under Ukrainian hands.
The Russian defense ministry confirmed 38,000 Ukrainian soldiers casualty in Kursk alone. But this number is not still verified.
