Andrew Bosworth, the CTO of Meta, told Business Insider that employees who are unhappy with the tech giant’s most recent regulations are allowed to go.
Among other things, the report quotes an internal conversation in which a worker accused Meta of stifling internal dissent and discontinuing DEI programs.
Bosworth replied that any staffer who believes it’s OK to circulate to the media because of policy disagreements “should consider working elsewhere.”
According to a follow-up employee, Meta employees felt insulted and that blaming leaks was not the solution. (This week, Meta started laying off people it has controversially referred to as “low performers.”)
“You should quit if you feel that way, I mean it.” Bosworth said.
The heated discussion is a reflection of some internal conflict at Meta as it makes major policy changes, such as relaxing moderation criteria and reversing DEI efforts.
A request for comment from Meta was not immediately answered.
